You can make a difference in the life of a girl....when you make a gift to Girl Scouts of Rhode Island, you're investing in a girl and in her entire community. Girls today have more opportunities than ever to pursue careers in science, math and technology, and to serve their country. But they also face uncertainties and fears that previous generations never had to face. Girl Scouting allows girls to get away from our fast-paced and sometimes frightening world. It gives them a chance to have fun, help people, and acquire lifelong skills. Not only does Girl Scouting help those girls involved, but their service projects ripple out through our council. In the past year, Girls Scouts in Rhode Island have made craft kits for patients at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and scarves for chemotherapy patients at St. Anne’s Hospital, filmed an outreach video for Habitat for Humanity, created a computer and video resource center for St. Mary’s Home for Children, worked on the Blackstone Valley cleanup, and gathered toiletry kits for clients of the Women’s Resource Center. Girls have worked to support our military troops overseas and their families at home, made visits to the elderly, collected a myriad of items for those in need, and mentored younger children.
